Clubcast 015. Story Behind the Song “Soulfur” Plus Fullmetal Alchemist & More About “Bluing”

In the fourth song commentary episode of the Clubcast, I follow up on last week’s episode about “Bluing” (which is now available to stream or download within the Friends Club) and discuss its many connections to the other new Friends Club single, “Soulfur.” The first half-hour of this episode details the twists and turns I took to finish writing “Soulfur” musically. The second half-hour details the research and inspiration that played into the song lyrics, inspired by the manga/anime Fullmetal Alchemist and its connections to the historical practice of alchemy. The final leg of the episode shares the many connections and intentional contrasts between “Soulfur” and “Bluing.”
