My brother-in-law Daniel Gibson (my wife’s sister’s husband) joins the show to discuss our mutual adoration for the scene classic album Define the Great Line by Underoath, as well as sharing our thoughts on Underoath’s 2025 album The Place After This One. Daniel Gibson also makes music (Bandcamp), and we trade stories about our journeys from playing in bands to eventually self-producing solo projects. Lastly, we discuss Daniel’s favorite Friends Club singles thus far, “Soulfur” and “Bluing,” which were released as a thematically connected pair in June 2024. At the end of the episode, you can hear the 8-bit instrumental version of “Soulfur.”
