In this remotely recorded episode, I share the scoop behind my surprise new mini-album Vivian-i and its two singles “Every” and “Ready,” which can be heard now within the Friends Club or on Bandcamp (https://chasetremaine.bandcamp.com/album/vivian-i). Both songs have storied histories, which I detail alongside the vision for the Vivian-i mini-album, which will contain an additional three full songs and another five shorter tracks and which will be released by the end of August. No music is contained in this episode because I needed to record this episode as a voice memo on my phone from Arkansas. (I lost track of trying to tell this story toward the start of the episode, but I had intended to record this podcast episode this past Friday before we hit the road for Arkansas; however, I cut it SO close wrapping up the mix and master for “Ready” that I didn’t have enough time left to record the episode. In fact, I finished “Ready” within just a few minutes of us leaving the house for over a week.) Thank you for enduring worse-than-usual audio quality on this episode!
Why Do You Release So Much Music?
I’m writing this article as a way to explain why I’m releasing so much music, to explore whether it’s plausible for a songwriter to write this much new material on such a prolific basis, and whether the concept of “too much music” is fairly, evenly applied across all artists.
