Musician and longtime friend Adam Rice joins the Clubcast this week to discuss one of his favorite albums, Mockroot by the Armenian jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan, who often combines his jazz compositions with elements of Armenian folk music and progressive rock. Adam is also a pianist and composer, so we talk about his plans to make more music in the near future, as well as reminisce on his contributions to my music over the years (including recording piano for a song on my upcoming album Readybloom). In the latter portion of the episode, we discuss two songs from my mini-album Vivian-i, “Making Memories” and “Every,” and the journey they took from originally being one straightforward acoustic song before getting split into two of my most progressive compositions to date. The episode ends with the original acoustic recording of the two songs combined.
